The third season of the anime series based on Kazuya Minekura's manga Saiyuki, produced by Pierrot in 2004 and consisting of twenty-six episodes.

Saiyuki RELOAD GUNLOCK is a Japanese television anime adapted from the manga Saiyuki RELOAD by Kazuya Minekura. Produced by Studio Pierrot and directed by Tetsuya Endo, it aired in Japan from April 1 to September 23, 2004, spanning 26 episodes. It is the third television anime series following Saiyuki: The Legend of the Monkey (2000) and Saiyuki RELOAD (2003). Continuing from the previous installments, Tripitaka and his companions (Tang Sanzang, Sun Wukong, Zhu Bajie, and Sha Wujing) persist in their journey west toward the Tianzhu Kingdom, aiming to thwart the resurrection of the Bull Demon King and the conspiracies unfolding in Tianzhu. The plot emphasizes the wavering trust among the master and disciples—particularly when a pair of formidable enemies from the West appears, pushing the group's cohesion and mission to their limits. The series maintains the franchise's signature aesthetic of hard-boiled gunfights, smoke, and snowscapes, while strengthening mature themes of causality and redemption. Distributed on DVD by Geneon in North America and available for streaming on Crunchyroll since 2021, it stands as a representative Japanese interpretation of the modernization and wuxia-style adaptation of Journey to the West.
